On October 11, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Department of FISCal (FI$Cal) will host its first independent virtual job fair.
The event, hosted by FI$Cal’s Human Resources Office (HRO), will give interested job seekers an opportunity to learn about the department and gain insights into FI$Cal’s mission, vision, divisions and career opportunities. “The job fair will give people a unique view into how our department works, the career opportunities available and an understanding of the State of California’s hiring process,” said HRO Chief, Audra Debenedetti.
Earlier this year, the department requested, and was approved, for additional resources as part of the Spring Finance Letter budget process. This means more job openings are now available at the department, creating promotional opportunities for both current state workers, and interested external job seekers. Job seekers can expect to find ongoing openings in information technology, accounting, administration, and more.
During the two hour job fair, FI$Cal staff will provide an overview of the department and its divisions, to give job seekers a glimpse into the department’s culture, vision and activities. Attendees can expect FI$Cal leaders to share in detail the inner workings of their divisions, and the types of projects staff typically work on. HRO staff will also provide an overview of the state hiring process, including where to find job openings, the examination process and how to apply. Time will also be made available for attendees to ask in-depth questions.
