The first week of May is Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW). PSRW is dedicated to honoring our public servants. Since 1985, it has been a time to spotlight those who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees. Throughout the nation and the world, we as public servants can use this occasion to educate others about the work we do and why we have chosen public service careers, as well as the many ways government services make life better for all of us.
This year more than ever, it is important that we take a moment to celebrate the amazing work of public sector employees and the jobs that each of you do every day that benefit the citizens of the state of California. We are seeing an unprecedented display of what we can accomplish under an unprecedented set of circumstances.
Although we have had to make some changes to the way we at the Department of FISCal are doing business, we are continuing to implement and operate the largest IT project in the history of the state. This is helping California make better-informed decisions and giving the Legislature and the public a window into the state’s financial management activities.
Moreover, we continue to be here for you, our customers, so you can keeping doing your jobs whether it be in the field, from your home or in the office.
